Hello together,

on Friday Evening I’m flying to Paris (STR-ZRH-CDG) on Swiss (Business Saver). I know that this ticket is definitely not flexible… Do you know if there is any possibility to get on earlier flights without paying a fortune?
Perhaps you know if they make any exceptions at Check-In or if it is absolutely useless to go earlier to the airport.

Thank you all!

Hi

I once missed my LX business saver flight. And next flight had no J class.
So I voluntary down graded to V, and with the price difference I paid the re-booking fees. At least I didn't have to put up any extra money.

Note! some Swiss ticketing agents don't know this, so have them double check with Swiss in Zurich.

I have never managed to get LX to voluntarily offer me flexibility on a ticket where there was none, simply because I asked. They would always ask me to pay the change fee and fare difference (with on a inflexible ticket is = buying a new ticket).

The exeception to this rule happens whenever my wish also served LX' purpose, e.g. because my original flight was overbooked, cancelled etc. In such cases, they were very quick and forthcoming on rebookings. However, such situations rarely arise.

If you don't mind hanging out at the airport, you can probably turn up early and give it a try.

I once managed to do so in Rome. I was on an earlier flight than my GF and I asked to put her on my flight. The agent in Rome changed this without any discussion however could not issue her onward BP to the final destination. In Zurich they sang the non changeable mantra - I told them obviously Rome rebooked us (otherwise she would not have been there). I was HON at this time and he obviously did not want to discuss....
