During my whirlwind trip of the midwest, we stopped over a night in St. Louis to see the zoo and the arch. We stayed there on 9/14.
The hotel itself is right off the interstate, which isn't really a bad thing, but there's not much to do around it. I definitely didn't feel unsafe or anything though. As a plus there's a Hardee's right next door that's open 24 hours a day - a godsend as by the time my fiancé and I arrived, we were dying for food.
I was booked into a 1 queen bed. No upgrade, though I know sometimes you just don't get upgraded. I was offered a 2 pm check out though thankfully. There's really not much to report on the room itself, it's your standard Holiday Inn room.
The bed was comfortable, the wifi was decent, and there was a couch and table, so at least we didn't have to eat in bed.
Next time I'm in St. Louis I might choose a hotel a little closer to the zoo or something but I wanted something near Busch Stadium as we were also seeing a Cardinals game, so in this case the location was good. All said though, I'd recommend it.
