Hi Everyone,
I am a bit confused as I've had trouble booking Asiana flights on Travelocity lately. I booked a flight on 9/3/09 using Travelocity for March 2010 from SAN-PNH returning BKK-SAN, but the ticket purchase never went through because one of the connections was not long enough. I was contacted by Travelocity and Asiana and told that I had not indeed been charged and a ticket had not been issued to me.
I rebooked the flight a few days later on Travelocity (but now flying on different days) and my card was charged. It was not until this weekend when I called Asiana that I found out that my return flight from BKK - SAN had only a one hour layover in LAX, which was not a valid connection due to the short amount of time involved getting my bags and switching planes. They said they can put me on a different flight from LAX - SAN, but now I have a 4+ hour layover in LAX which is far from ideal, considering it takes only 2 hours to make that drive and I have an 8 hour layover in ICN the same day!
Asiana said I must call them once I begin my trip in PNH at which point they'll officially switch my ticket for the return flight back to the flight with a 4 hour layover in LAX. Does this sound right to you?
Also, my flight from SAN - PNH has a 45 minute layover in ICN. I inquired about this with the agent on the phone and she said that would be ok, but now I forget why and am wondering what you think.
I am so confused as to why they list these flights online and make them available to purchase in the first place if they're not valid. I would have not had any idea my second flight was not valid unless I called Asiana!
Sorry for the long post. All information you could share would be very helpful to help put my mind at ease.
