Hey all. I am looking for a site that would show me fares from a given airport to a whole bunch of other airports around the US. I'm basically looking at doing a fair amount of traveling the next year and don't have any real solid destinations in mind, but it would be nice to be able to see cheap fares as they pop up and jump on them. I don't want fare alerts or weekly emails from airlines trying to fill up their sat and monday flights.

I used to use a site like this back around 2001, but I can't remember what it is called or if it even still exists. I know it allowed me to find some good prices to some places I wouldn't have ever even thought of going to, but had fun going there anyway.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try this link:

http://www.farecompare.com/search/flyertalk.html

But it's observed that some of the fares quoted are very rare to find (like 2-3 possible dates in 3 months window)

Bing Travel has something that may work for you. Check out http://www.bing.com/travel/deals/airline-ticket-deals.do

On the right-hand side there's a list of cities for which Bing lists some deals. And they also have a "when to travel" feature where you could input your origin city and destination city (select cities only) and trip length, and Bing can give you some kind of a forecast for the fares for the next 3 months.

You may be thinking of Travelocity's Dream Maps (http://dps1.travelocity.com/dreamMap.ctl). However it doesn't appear to work any more.
