Flying LAX to JBerg (via Heathrow) on Upper Class...which seats are the best? (first time flying both VA and Upper Class). Also, want to make sure I maximize all the perks (driver pick-up/delivery, spa services, etc)....what else should I know/experience?

Thanks

Welcome to Flyertalk mbliving!

Type of aircraft you are travelling on would be useful :)

Alternatively if you can provide us with your travel dates and flights, I will happily look this up and also see what seats are actually available.

Thanks Clubman
Looks like we're flying on Airbus 3460
Seat 8k all the way to/from (in the middle of 1-17) window right side

My buddy and I used miles/points (from starwood and amex) and got seats together on the same flight...they were surprised they found this, mostly during world cup.

I was shocked to see the $950 charge of taxes/fees though...is this because we are flying through Heathrow? Ridiculous!

Since we are using miles/points, we dont get the car service included (we didnt need it but sounded fun).

What other perks do we get being on Upper Class?

Hi,

Other benefits on upper class;

Priority Check in
Priority boarding
Lounge Access ( Excellent CLubhouse at LHR- can prebook spa treatments)

At LAX T2 VS uses the air New Zealand lounge.
You get a sleep suit offered on the overnight flights.

Enjoy Upper class!^

Neither LAX nor SFO have an arrivals lounge for VS passengers, only at Heathrow.

You'll be flying a 346 not a 330 - VS hasn't got any of those yet. the 346 is the usual plan on the LAX route now so shame you're bummed, but it was probably the same when you booked it.

The 346s are newer and quieter than the 747s, in all aspects the UC service is the same but of course the plane is different and many people do prefer the 747 because the UC suites are slighter larger and you get the upper deck option.

Enjoy your flight whatever!
