AirTran Airways A+ Rewards - Would LGA-IND be considered Short range or Medium range?

I will be flying from LGA to IND on their recently announced non-stop service next month. I am considering upgrading at check-in if business class is available. Based on the AirTran website which has not been updated, it does not list whether LGA-IND is short or medium range, which albeit small, would be a $20 difference per passenger to upgrade. I see LGA to Akron/Canton is short range and LGA-MKE is medium range, and correct me of I wrong geographically, but I would say IND is somewhere between them.

I don't know, but if I had to hazard a guess, it would be medium range.

I thought FL was basically a hub (and focus city) & spoke operation?

Most of their flights between LGA-IND do follow this system, as do many of their flights from the Northeast to Florida and West Coast. I know that there are very few carriers that fly non-stop from NY to IND, so maybe they feel they can generate some revenue there.

ATL to HOU (Hobby) is Short Range ($49 to upgrade) at 604 miles. LGA-IND is ~571 miles (both mileage figures are from the web, I did not double-check them). If this data is correct, LGA-IND should also be short range.
