Hilton HHonors - Embassy Suites Chicago for 4 Adults

Hi,
I'm going to be staying in Chicago Oct 9-11 (for the Chicago Marathon) on an Hhonors reward at either the Embassy Suites Chicago Downtown or Lakeshore. To save some money, there will be a total of 4 adults in the room, and I have a few questions:
On an Hhonors reward, will they allow 4 adults per room?
I've read that "passes" are required for morning breakfasts & evening receptions. Will all 4 adults be able to receive these passes? How strict are the hotels about checking for these passes?
All things being considered, which Embassy Suites would be the best fit?
Thanks in advance...

For tourists, the Downtown location is perfect as it's in the middle of everything and you can easily get to many attractions. Whenever I'm in the city for either business or a personal trip, I'll stay at the ES Downtown. Based on the start and finish of the marathon, I'd suggest the Downtown location as the Lakeshore ES is located north of the river.
As far as the number of people/adults in the room, I've not run into problems with checking for breakfast vouchers or the number of people in my room. I recall once in the last 10+ years that I've been asked for vouchers and that was at the Hilton Suites in Oakbrook Terrace, not the ES. To be certain you'll receive a free breakfast, make sure to distribute room keys and the vouchers to all in your party. Many times the room key will suffice in lieu of a voucher for executive areas so I suspect the same will apply to a breakfast.
Good luck.

Both Embassy Suites are north of the river. If anything, the Lakeshore ES is a bit closer to the start.

I meant to insert the word "further" before north. The Lakefront location is further north but the downtown location is more west. If you're walking, the lakefront location is closer. If you're taking a cab, they are both .9 miles to the start.

I know that at ES Lakefront, max occupancy in a room with 2 beds (plus the sofa) is 6 (as opposed to a suite with just one bed plus sofa). Not sure about ES Downtown.

You might also look into the Homewood Suites, it is around half way between the two ES's. Sometimes the rate is a bit better; especially the pay in advance rate, their rooms are comparable.
