we have to be carefull because the travelzoo rate may make it so we cannot get the points on spg.

I have never known that to be true. Travelzoo gives a link that takes you to the Starwood website. From there, you can book the promotional rate. Any rate that you book on the Starwood website qualifies for stay credit.

Hyatt GP burned me on this before (even booked through Hyatt's website!), I'm glad that SPG does not penalize for TravelZoo rates.

Have stayed here and can confirm it's a nice stay -- great location and its circular shape and relative lack of high surrounding buildings means nearly every room has a great view. Face Elliott Bay for the best ones.

When I've stayed a the W Seattle it has seemed slightly cheap. The furniture showed quite a bit of wear and tear and, while everything looks very modern and elegant, it does not have the quality of a true boutique hotel. That said, this is a pretty good room rate for downtown Seattle when compared to some of its competitors.

I think you are confusing the W with the Westin. The Westin is the one with a circular shape (W is straight up and down) and every room does not have a great view. There are buildings surrounding the W all the way around.

Having said that, this is a rather good rate for downtown. Combine it with the current spg promotions and it makes it even better.
