AeroMexico canceled this route and didn't bother to contact me. Has anyone had any success in getting protection on a different carrier ? There is an Alaska non-stop . I'm currently booked on a connecting Aeromexico flight via Mexico city that is inconvenient and defeats the main reason I booked the non-stop.

I've really regretting using them, they are worst than a LCC . My experience contacting them is awful and they seem to have very little business ethics. Stay away from them !

Yikes! Sounds scary. Sorry to hear you're having issues with them.

BTW, congratulations on your 10-year FT anniversary!

Thank you. I had a couple of 10 year anniversaries this year, didn't realize this was another one of them.

Well... since they canceled the flight, can you cancel the ticket with them (ie- get a full refund) and then purchase on AS? I am not sure that AM would endorse the ticket to AS... when they could route you thru MEX... but who wants to do that?

Otherwise the AS nonstop looks

If the replacement flights are unsatisfactory, you are entitled to a refund,
Grab it and book another carrier.

I am in the same boat, booked SEA-SJD in business class for prime Christmas holiday dates, only to find the flight canceled. We too were offered to be re-routed thru MEX, which is rediculous considering I have tons of windsurfing gear and we have a 7 month old. The intl-dom connection in MEX is rumored to be less than optimal anyway, but with the gear it's a non-starter.

For those suggesting AS, that's wishful thinking, especially during the holidays. Those seats are long gone. And if seats are still around, prices are way up, compared to what we found last winter.

I am working to get them to give us SAN-SJD and making them figure out how to get us down to SAN on AS. I'll even take Y class at this point, the MEX option is simply not one. I will never book AM again...

There's still hope stephem. After getting the WA state AG to write to AeroMexico on my behalf I was contacted by a friendly and responsive individual from their Houston HQ. They protected all our seats on the AS non-stop flights from SEA-SJD. Tickets were re-booked as full Y , UG eligible :)

AeroMexico's call centers staff were truly awful. It's pointless trying to negotiate anything with them. Not only are they powerless, they're also rude , uninformed and deceptive

Good luck
