Usually a BA traveller but being taken by other half to Miami to meet family so have a couple of stupid questions if someone can be tolerant enough to answer I'd be grateful.

Itenary is MAN-CDG-MIA. Status level - None (very bottom rung due to finances limited lately)

1) How long before the flgiht can I check bags at MAN. It's a 06:40 flight and with travelling with children would prefer to check in night-before and hotel stay to allow as much sleep as possible.

2) Baggage Allowance - Will we be able to use the trans-atlantic baggage allowance for the MAN-CDG section of the flight ?

TIA

Dear Basset,
1- You can do OLCI the day before your flight but you won't be allowed to check bags at the airport the day before your flight. As you are obviously taking the 1st very early flight from MAN, I believe the check-in counters open only around 5:30 am. Limit check-in times (or drop-off luggage) is 30 min before flight time.
2- your baggage allowance will be the one of the transatlantic flight, i.e. piece concept : 2 pieces of luggage/traveller. The weight allowed (per piece of luggage) depends on your class of travel and your flying blue status

I used the 0640 MAN - CDG service in July; as part of a MAN - CDG - CAI itinerary.

Although online check-in is availiable from 30 hours before the scheduled flight departure time, as there's a Delta service to ATL departs even earlier in the day; AF handles DL check-in at MAN, you won't be able to check-in or drop off bags for your flight to CDG until 0440.

With regards to the luggage issue, you should be permitted the allowance for your CDG - MIA flight; I certainly got the 2 X 23 kg, for the CDG - CAI service when checking-in at MAN.

Thank you - shame about not being able to bag drop the night before.

Thanks for the allowance confirmation.
