JAL Mileage Bank - Upgrade on JL (AA Codeshare)

Hi-

I read through several threads here, and looked online at JLs website but I was having trouble finding a definite answer.

I am flying ORD-NRT-SGN next week. All of my flights have AA flight numbers, but my NRT-SGN segment is on JL. I know that I cannot upgrade that leg using AA miles, but can I upgrade it using JL miles? I am flying in N class, and am OW Sapphire (if that matters).

Please advise. And thanks!
