Swiss International Airlines - new F class poorly assembled

the day before yesterday I flew ZRH - ORD on the new A300/300 (St Gallen). Much to my disappointment, my seat (2K) had the following flaws:
1) video would turn itself off for twenty seconds, every five minutes. multiple restarts could not solve the problem.
2) the switch that operates the privacy wall, was wired wrong: in order to open it you had to press the close switch and vice versa (in other words, the wooden wall moved in the opposite direction with respect to the arrow painted on the switch)
3) In the opposite seat, and in the seat in front of it ( I believe 1 and 2H) the screen quality was poor, as if the contrast was put way down. Working with the screen controls produced no effect
4) the reading light would not turn itself off.
Tonight i am flying back, let us see how the cabin is.
Cheers

Quite annoying to see that it was either shoddy workmanship assembling the seats or they are of such poor quality that they are already broken ?
Are you sure you weren't on a BA F flight ? ;)

The workmanship was perfect. I think they did not sped enough time testing the wiring. They really were minor things amidst a superb flight experience.
I am in an old AA MD 80 right now and the only thing fun about it is the internet connection.

My complaint with the new F is that the dining table does not slide forward far enough to get in/out of the seat easily.
I have a 32" waist, and found it pretty tight to slide past with the table up.
The legacy F without the big video screen provides much more room to maneuver.
Just a little ding in my book.
I've got 3 longhauls on LX next week, and am looking forward to the old F cabin.

My critics:
1) cabin has too many lights at night for sleeping really well
2) no place to put either glasses or water bottle (wood surfaces very slippery)
3) the front seat is not as comfortable as the old ottoman to stretch you legs
4) you have to go through galley to go from one side of cabin to other
5) massage function is a Joke
5) mattress is harder, and cushion inflater / deflater does not seem to change things
I want to punt things into perspective. Ne new F cabin is a great leap forward that consolidate Swiss as N1 product in Europe and among the top in the world.
my two cents

Just flew back ORD - ZRH. the plane was Sion. The toilet sink in F was broken. Had to queue in front of the Business toilet. Nothing wrong with seat and video. Splendid flight.

Showoff :p
I'm doing ZRH-JFK in the new F product on Thursday and back next week so will post a mini TR.
... I flew ZRH - ORD on the new A300/300 (St Gallen)...
I guess it was a A330-300 ... in particular HB-JHD (http://www.airfleets.net/ficheapp/plane-a330-1026.htm) ;)
Airbus never built A300-300s ... only -100s, -200s, -600s
SWISS actually leased once an A300-600 D-AIAX (http://www.airfleets.net/flottecie/Swiss%20International%20Airlines-history-a300.htm) good, that it is already stored by now :)

Just curious. Would reporting a malfunctioning AVOD in F, present you with miles, and if so, how many?

I got 5k miles for a non functioning AVOD in Y, so I guess a bit higher then that.

Earlier this year on SFO-FRA (LH) I got an onboard opup for a non functioning headset ^.

I joked with the crew who said LX should hire me as a tester. There was no word of miles, and I must stress the light was a splendid one, like almost all LX F flights

That parituclar plane was out of service this week for 3 days possibly to fix those issues. SWISS has supposedly delayed the instalation of the new C Class onto the A343 until November / December due to issues with the seats that need to be sorted out. Altough the new C Class is great there are also various issues, one of the main problems is the try table which is really anoying to take out and store etc and various others little things.
