Hi, just wandering if anyone can give me some heads up on CI's dyansty class menu for TPE-DEL or any experience on Intra-Asia routes, any comparison with major carriers? like TPE-DEL is about 7.15 hr flying time, so last time I did this route was in Y, and was only served breakfast upon departure and I believe you could self serve a cheese/salad sandwich from the galley before arrival if required....
thanks^

We flew TPE-DEL with CI in C beginning this month. Did not pay particular attention to the food, but I think there were two choices, seafood or chicken. The flight was really early, but strangely, the meal served did not resemble the usual breakfast eg omelette, yogurt, instead ,the seafood went with mashed potatoes, chicken with rice.Tasted OK, not too bad by airlines' standard. The submarine sandwich served close to landing was, however, quite unpalatable. Can't comment on the drinks cos the only thing we drank were soft drinks and juices.

thanks for the info... hopefully will get around to write a t/r on this route mid dec.. just on a side note I found this http://www.airliners.net/photo/China-Airlines/Airbus-A330-223/0499193/L/&sid=d6fe45b3f60f818d3997b508ba3e0f47 Thought it was painted in CI c/s but never completed any revenue flights for CI, reports are the lease was cancelled due to SARS, however if it did operate any ideas on the routes this a/c would have flown? EUROPE/ North America/ NZ ??
cheers

Two A330-200s were wet leased from TAM. CI originally wanted to operate these two planes for TPE-SYD & TPE-DEL.

Previously in news stated that they will be leasing two more 333 by the end of this year... not sure if they will do it.

yeah found out they do, however what is the E-menu option? is it like Book the Cook on SQ kind of thing? :D might give it a try closer to the date if it's avail on these flights..

Lets be clear this is NOT a "book the cook" - I think its to ensure that premium passengers get their choice from the 2 unfortunate choices provided in all cabins.
I've been pretty disappointed by Dynasty class lately both on the short haul Asean routes (KL-TPE) and also on a recent LAX - TPE. Its a lottery as to whether you get a new-ish A330 or an old grandma 747!

Indeed but I used the service once back in January 2005 (CI 65 BKK-AMS in C) and the crew didn’t seem to have a clue that I pre-ordered my meals! Perhaps things have changed now.

I was talking to a CI pilot at my hotel in KUL last week. When I got to the aiprort he was stood next to me taking the shuttle train across the terminal. I was flying EVA. He had a load of food with him and I joked do they not feed you these days and he basically told me that its beter to bring your own food. The in the EVA lounge the pilots came in and ate there rather than eating on board
