Swiss International Airlines - Y seats/vegetarian meals JFK-ZRH-BOM

Looking for a bit of help/advice from LX FFs: I'm flying JFK-ZRH-BOM r/t, outbound in Oct, return Nov, and called LX USA to reserve seats and request special meals. I don't have any *A status.

The agent sounded very reluctant to help - he assigned seats without even asking what I was looking for. Apparently, only JFK-ZRH-JFK can be pre-assigned seats, not sure exactly why. Got seats in the middle - 23 E on A333 outbound, 22D (bulkhead) on A332 inbound (although the agent said they were both A333? SWISS online booking manager says inbound is 332).

How are these seats? Seatguru gives mixed review for the bulkhead, but the sticky says there is less legroom in 22. And I'd like to not be in the middle... outside aisle/window would be preferable. I have no status, but are they there any good window seats I can grab?

I also asked for a special meal request, and requested the vegetarian Hindu meal featured on their website(http://www.swiss.com/web/EN/services/on_board/food_beverages/Pages/special_meals.aspx).

The agent said it was not offered on any of the 4 flights... I was very skeptical that is was not offered on the India route, but he insisted. Apparently the only options are Asian vegetarian (not even listed on website), vegetarian dairy (also not listed online), and vegetarian lacto-ovo.

Could that possibly be correct? I would be very disappointed if it were so (probably would not fly LX to India again).

Bump - anyone have any ideas/information about the meals?

Try the good old call center advise: Try to phone again and you might end up with a more willing/competent agent.

(Just made this experience myself - wanted to book a flight and wanted the agent to hold it for a couple of days - 2 were willing to do it - 2 said the "rules" would not allow for this.)

i have flown both to jfk and bom with lx but not anytime recently.
It has always been my understanding that non statuspax can request specific seats on longhaul flights. Also I don't think that no hindu meal is offered ex zrh. Therefore just call again and hope for a better agent.

Thanks - this did the trick (amazing, isn't it?). Got the meal requests and seats changed.

I called during the day this time - maybe the night shift isn't quite up to the task? ;)
