Jet Airways in India recently changed their Tier Review system, making it easier for members to earn or retain top tier status with them.
Tier Points
Effective September 11, 2009, the DTR evaluates a member's tier based on Tier Points and Tier JPMiles.
- Tier Points and Tier JPMiles are those earned on flights Jet Airways, Jet Airways Konnect, JetLite and Jet Airways codeshare flights. Also earn additional Tier Points for flights in First Class and Première on Jet Airways.
The Tier Points will be awarded as follows:
First Class International Flights - 5 Tier Points
Première Class International Flights - 3 Tier Points
Première Class Domestic Flights - 2 Tier Points
Economy Class International/Domestic Flights - 1 Tier Point
Codeshare International/Domestic Flights - 1 Tier Point
Tier Upgrade
Effective September 11, 2009, tier upgrade requirement has been revised:
- 6-month Fast track upgrade: On a daily basis, DTR looks at Tier Points and Tier JPMiles earned in the preceding 180 days; offering faster tier upgrades based on frequency and recency of travel.
- 12-month Standard upgrade: On a daily basis, DTR also reviews Tier Points and Tier JPMiles earned in the preceding 365 days for a tier upgrade.
Tier Upgrade Criteria in Tier Points / Tier JPMiles:
Tier Upgrade with 6-month Fast Track:
Blue to Blue Plus - 5 / 7500
Blue Plus to Silver - 15 / 22500
Silver to Gold - 30 / 45000
Gold to Platinum - 45 / 67500
Tier Upgrade with 12-month Standard:
Blue to Blue Plus - Not Applicable
Blue Plus to Silver - 20 / 30000
Silver to Gold - 40 / 60000
Gold to Platinum - 60 / 90000
Tier Retention
With DTR, tier renewal is easier and more flexible.
DTR reviews Tier Points and Tier JPMiles earned in a 12month time-frame preceding your tier review date:
- If the 12-month criteria is not met, then the 18-month time-frame will be considered
- If the 18-month criteria is not met, then the 24-month time-frame will be considered
With each increase in time-frame, the DTR reduces the number of Tier Points and Tier JPMiles, making tier renewal easier.
Effective September 11, 2009, Blue Plus tier will be reviewed only for an upgrade and the tier will not change to Blue. And we have further reduced the tier renewal requirement for the 18-month and 24-month criteria:
Tier Upgrade Criteria in Tier Points / Tier JPMiles:
Tier Renewal under 12-month criteria
Platinum - 60 / 90000
Gold - 40 / 60000
Silver - 20 / 30000
Blue Plus - No Downgrade
Tier Renewal under 18-month criteria
Platinum - 81 / 121500
Gold - 54 / 81000
Silver - 27 / 40500
Blue Plus - No Downgrade
Tier Renewal under 24-month criteria
Platinum - 102 / 153000
Gold - 68 / 102000
Silver - 34 / 51000

Retro-active credit of Tier Points and Tier JPMiles
To ensure that our members benefit from the programme changes with immediate effect, any Jet Airways flight in First Class and Première, Jet Airways codeshare and JetLite flights undertaken in the last 2 years, will be considered as per the new Tier Points and Tier JPMiles structure; that comes into effect for all membership tiers reviewed from September 11, 2009.
Consequently, should it qualify for a tier upgrade or an automatic renewal; the JetPrivilege membership status will be changed accordingly.
