During my last couple of stays at Sheraton Delhi on points, they have given free buffet bfast...is that the case at all Starwood properties in India like Le Meridian?

The Le Meridian in Pune gives free breakfast in their lounge area. Though it wasn't the full breakfast in the restaurant, they had a pretty decent spread and were willing to 'cook to order' as well.

You might check out the http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starwood-preferred-guest/321600-list-club-lounges.html thread to see if other India hotels are listed with lounges.

ITC Maurya gives you free breakfast, but not sure if it was because of SPG Plat or hotel-wide policy.

Not sure either, if it is a plat thing or inclusive rates. certainly all my stays had breakfast included, in all 10 properties.

Nope it isn't. No such policy and I believe I have answered this before.

It relies entirely on the discretion of individual hotels.

over the past few years i have stayed in almost every spg hotel in india....as far as i can remember they all offered free breakfast....most had it included with the room rate, while others just offered it in their respective lounges which i've always had access to as a plat....

SPG Plats usually get breakfast as a matter of practice at Starwood hotels in India. SPG Golds and other Starwood customers, however, are not anywhere near as routinely recipients of included breakfast unless breakfast and/our lounge access is part of the rate and/or room (category) booked or the hotel otherwise has decided to offer it.

What isnt - SPG Plat given free breakfast or all hotel guests given free breakfast?

I was referring to the Hotel's policy, to be clear.

I would say that many corporate rates, and a great deal of the non-SET bookable rates, at Starwood hotels in India have been negotiated to include breakfast. Breakfast is provided to Plats in the lounges of many of the hotels in India as well. I always read the T&Cs and ask the front desk to make sure as it can be a costly mistake.

And it's a dandy one indeed in Mumbai.
