Just got an email from SPG - "Rock Out With Complimentary Concert Tickets from SPG" with the following text:

As a member of the Starwood Preferred Guest® program, you can enjoy a rock-star opportunity: two online codes that can be redeemed for complimentary general admission tickets to the select amphitheatre concert of your choice.
Register now for the best selection. Ticket redemption codes are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you’re among the first to register, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your online ticket redemption codes.
Choose from select concerts and enjoy the show!

Seems great, right? Except when I earch the venues nearest to me (Chicagoland) there are no concerts listed!! I even searched Wisconsin too, and nothing.

What is the point of offering two free concert tickets if I can't find any concerts to go to?!?

I did get the redemption codes, so first person to PM me gets the two codes.
Hopefully they're transferable.

Looks like all of the SF shows are @ the Fillmore. I've been trying to get Black Crowes tix, but it always asks for a credit card and doesn't give the option of entering the codes that were sent. 'Help' yielded nothing.

Has anyone gotten tickets successfully? Where do you enter the codes?

Thanks!

I just secured 2 tickets to Brad Paisley for a friend in Tampa. I ran into a couple of technical glitches, too. But eventually got it all worked out. The only concert in my area is Slipknot (yikes), but it worked out nicely for friends.

Tickets are not free - double digit "surcharges" to get the free ticket. Besides these are the worst possible seats in terms of price categories too.

As a citibank cardmember, I was also given those "complimentary" tickets. I have quite a few that I'm never going to use...

Ok, thanks... now I don't feel so badly about "missing out." Guess this is just their way of getting rid of excess Slipknot & Creed tickets (the only groups that I can find).

I agree. ;)

Did you have to pay the surcharges with a credit card? Where and at what point in the process did you enter the codes??

Not ture, the surcharge was waived at check-out.

Is something going on? This is the second or third post about concert tickets we've had in the past week or so.

How can I ensure that I get these emails for concerts? I'm a platinum member and have signed up to receive these offers but never do...

If this was a targeted offer...and all appearances point to the fact that it is/was...there is no ensurance possible.

All gone now. Just tried and the website reads, "the ticket window is closed."

They were giving away amphitheatre tickets in fall. I believe that in most parts of the country, outdoor concerts are over for the year. Just odd.

I was able to get in in time to get the codes, but when I click to search for concerts, it goes to a site that leads with "Thank you for visiting! Our regular website is experiencing technical problems..." and there is nothing that flags eligible concerts and no place to enter the code. Is this just a temporary issue with the LiveNation site?

Zardoz, same thing happened to me. I tried immediately after the email came today and even as late as 10 minutes ago. When I went to the main Live Nation site I couldn't find any shows with available tickets in many different locations. Never even made it to a point where I had the opportunity to enter the promo codes.

Silly is the polite word. Why on earth have people go out of their way (and get them excited) about free tickets then not have any available.

This looks like bait and switch to me. I got my codes and tried for Shoreline and Concord - NOTHING. Plenty of seats to buy but non redeemable. BAIT AND SWITCH!

Should we complain to Starwood and maybe get a code for a free in-room movie? :)

Does anybody have ticket codes that they aren't planning on using? I would be very happy if you are willing to share. Please PM me.
