Several French VIPs have seen their FB accounts emptied by fishing strategy.
AF says 63 millions miles have been fraudulently deducted of which 55 have been recovered. 8 millions are missing.

Love that comment about Lilian Thuram, robbed of 425,000 miles (estimated value of 20,000 euros):
soit 10 minutes de match...il va survivre.

Yep, but I love the estimation too - 425,000 miles = 20,000??? So when customers service 'offers' us 10,000 miles as compensation, it is really 500 they are forking out? And should I declare that I am in fact 60,000 richer than I thought? :D

If you consider that with 100,000 miles you get a EUR 5,200 business class ticket to New York
425,000 miles are EUR 22,100 worth = GBP 19,815

Ooh, caught me
In Thuram currency, that would be the equivalent of EUR 56'470! How about I pay it back with actual flights. I'll let you choose until September 21st 5'640 different flights from here (http://www.ryanair.com/site/FR/). A romantic country weekend in Bydgoszcz? Or clubbing in Blackpool?

I guess if you go to maximum potential J (and disregard that from AF's calculation, this 5200 makes you earn another 14,000 miles + 14,000 bonus, which I presume must then be the equivalent of a 560 'cashback' cheque!) a Z fare which is more or less completely flexible from LHR to JFK costs me £1100 + tax so it makes the calculation less glamourous.
If you consider that with 100,000 miles you get a EUR 5,200 business class ticket to New YorkUnless I am mistaken, an 5200 ticket to JFK will be a flex one booked in C class, viz. a class in most cases you will be able to find availability on most days and are likely to be able to change to the flight of your choice at pretty much anytime until the day of your flight.
A 100000 miles return ticket to JFK will be one that will be booked in a class in which availability will be severely restricted, in which you are likely to have to adapt your travel dates to ensure that there is availability to start with and in which you are unlikely to find availability to change at will as you get closer to your travel date.
So, no: 100000 miles does NOT get you an 5200 business class ticket to NYC: it gets you a business class ticket which has a much, much lower value than that.

I wish I could sell my miles that price !
If this were the value, I would be more then happy to sell all my miles back to AF. COnsidering the fact that in most swepstaes type deals the given value is generall $20,000 for 1 million miles, it would seem that AFKL has way too strong a feeling for the value of these things.

I wonder what the value for each mile is according to the accounting rules. I bet it is a lot, lot, lot lower. If not they would be bankrupt. :)
Yes of course it is, its even documented here in a recent thread.
