WestJet "Passenger Perks" - Should I Select Seats When Booking

I'm looking at booking a flight from Calgary to Vancouver on Jan 2 for three people and notice that Westjet give you the choice of selecting a seat when booking for a charge or during online check-in for free.

Is it recommended that I pay the fee and select our seats or wait until check-in. I also notice that the entire front of the aircraft is blocked out. Is this normal?

I wouldn't bother. Just do online checkin exactly 24 hours before your flight (right when it opens), and you will have tons of selection.

I'm with above poster. I'd wait it out 24 hrs before departure to check in online. If you can't get seats together, I'd ask someone politely for a swap. And plus it's only 90min flight, so save your money on something nice to buy
