Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - Expedia : Can a hotel reservation be "moved" to a future date?

Duh.. very noob like question.

I have a hotel reservation in October for 3 nights hotels stay in Phnom penh, booked through XP. The hotel itself is not a well known one (doesn't belong to any major brands).

Now it looks like I need to shift my travel plans to November. Instead of cancelling, I wish to move the reservations to those dates (paying a small fee is okay by me). I haven't got any Hotel confirmation number. I have an Expedia confirmation #.

Is this possible at all? Should I contact Expedia or Hotel to do this? I guess Hotel could be more favorable.

Please enlighten me.

The hotel should have your details on their system already. I'd recommend contacting the hotel directly and see what they can do. Depending on the hotel, the rate & their cancelling policy you may/may not be able to shift the booking dates. (Sorry I know the answer's a bit vague). In short just call the hotel and they will give you an answer.

Thanks akira, I called Expedia. They were very clear that I need to call them since I have booked through them for any changes. And it also appears that not all reservations can be moved just like that. If someone has any experience in a similar situation, please share.
