Just a heads up -- a Courtyard by Marriott recently opened a couple miles from IST. Free shuttle bus. There are some affordable rates, and they throw in breakfast if you use the "LPR" rate. Looks like a nice hotel. I have an overnight at IST (domestic flight in the evening, int'l the next morning) and this hotel looks like a much better value than the alternatives. Looks perfect for an overnight. Anyone stay there yet?

My wife and I stayed there in July just after it opened and they were definitely still getting the kinks worked out. It did seem to be the cheapest decent option near the airport though.
Things you should know: The free shuttle only runs once per hour stopping at the international terminal at half past each hour till 11:30 PM. There is no signage or courtesy phone in the terminal to give you this info -- though of course there are the airport sanctioned shuttle companies that will charge you an arm and a leg to get you there after harassing you and misidentifying themselves as "tourist information". A taxi is a better option at TL10.
The room was perfectly nice but we had no hot water. We only had 6 hrs in the hotel so we didn't want to stay up to wait for maintenance. We also had a flight too early for the first shuttle at 6AM or breakfast.

Very helpful, pvdflyer, thanks. That once-an-hour shuttle sounds like it could be a drag, though. I mean, they're an airport hotel! Still, it looks a lot better than the alternatives.

Probably, although the Renaissance Polat is about the same distance away. I stayed there one a few years ago and found it decent; probably more amenities than the CY. And a bit farther away, but still within striking distance, are the Sheraton Atakoy (re-flagged from a Crowne Plaza I think) and new Novotel and Ibis.
I haven't stayed at the Sheraton, but it carries the benefits of being in a decent area with some amenities within walking distance if one has a few extra hours to kill.
