KLM Flying Dutchman - Kathmandu

Hi guys...I'm looking to do one of my regular long distance charity walks in the next couple of months.
Question, how's the best way to get to Kathmandu from London, (using my points ?)

If you can get the promo award, you could get to DEL on the cheap via CDG (ex-SOU/LHR/LCY) and make your own way up (or tag on a Jet award). You could do the overnight train/bus route if you're feeling really adventurous!

Otherwise, a Jet award all the way would be the way to go, if you can get it.

1. Fly to Delhi(AF/KL) and take a Jet Airways flight (NW) using points.
2. China Southern?

Jet would also be my no. 1 choice.

Alternative is award to Delhi and buy r/t to KTM - cheap in both Y and C class.

Thanks...and what is their Business Class like..? Recommended ? I shall now try the helpdesk to check out the possibilty of London/Dehli/Kathamndu and see what response I get, (and how many miles I shall be stung for, if I make Dehli a 'legal' stopover for a couple of days.)

Oh yes, Jet are a quality operation. I've actually only had the pleasure of flying them domestically in India, but have a look at the TR forum to see what their business class service is like - I see little but glowing praise.

I think 140k miles is the business return Europe <-> Subcontinent. That's why, if you can get the flight just to DEL, you could make a good saving: there's currently a webaward on for 70k miles return via CDG.

Which forum is it that you refer to (TR forum).

Am also looking into AMS-SIN-KTM on Singapore Airlines vs AMS-DEL(KL)-KTM, hence the interest
