Budget Travel - First time flyer booking flight

I was wondering where can I get the cheapest international tickets? I am flying from TXK to SXM. Also, I will be flying with my one year old. I noticed some booking services do not even have one year olds on there because you can put them in your lap. I am wanting him to fly in my lap. I went to AA which is the airline we have to use, and the one yr old in our lap is not an option either. However some sites have it and they add on ANOTHER fee. I am wondering do I have to have him on my ticket, or can I just show up at the airport with him and pick up my reservations? Also...ha...what about baggage...I have read the airline polices...but they word everything so ambiguously. If I have 3 bags plus my carry on flying internationally on AA about how much will this cost? One part of there website says we get two bags and then there is a charge for any over that. Is my carry on considered on of these bags? I am sorry for all of the questions, but I do not want to be surprised at the airport. It is going to be stressful enough....first time and with a one yr old to a foreign country!

If you know you want to fly on AA, you should call AA to ask these questions to be sure, and then book on the phone with them (fee will apply) or else on aa.com.

If you check 3 bags, the 3rd bag will cost $100 each way. Your one carry-on is in addition to the checked bag limit and should be fine, no fee for that.

I believe the lap infant charge is 10% of your ticket price, but again, I'd call AA to verify.

Also, make sure to verify with AA what travel docs you will need, both for yourself and for your son.
