Well, the following link and announcement are - so far - the only references from OA I found so far:

I've just changed my personal info on my handle to reflect that I'm only Icarus Silver until 30 Sept!!

I was gold for five year (did no flights at all in that time - it just took them that long to issue me a silver card :) ) and I have been silver ever since (another 5 years??). Of course, not a single flight.

I just went to have a quick look at the Olympic website and it has been infected by that rather nasty virus pthat says 'your computer is infected, click here'.

Goodness knows how they (OA) are even taking any bookings at the moment.

There are a couple of things that I'll give Olympic... they always had good food (although i always flew business) - and their A340s when they first came out were pretty much an industry leader for biz class with the 58' pitch and good recline. I think BA and possibly SA?? might have been the only carriers with flat beds at that stage, and VS might have had their first generation slopings...

regards

Informing FF members of the dissolution of the FFP in less than two weeks and having the airline booking site infected with a virus: not confidence-inspiring!

Yep, I am in ATH wailting for a confimed flight to SMI ( one the NEW ?? Olympic). Same chaos as usual, rude arrogant staff, cancelled flights and no information about what is going on.

Maybe they should rename it: "O limping Airline":D

I will switch to Aegean for my flight back to ATH on Sunday:mad:

Sorry I forgot to post earlier! I got an email from OA in early August announcing The End! I had a measly & useless 2000 miles from a 1-way ATH--LHR in 2005!

Hi all! I have a confirmed ticket via expedia for Nov 4- Ath to IST on Olympic- it was changed to Chalk's airline- never heard of them and zero web presence. Two questions

1) Does anyone know what Chalk's airline is

2) Shouldnt I be able to request a full refund from Olympic or Expedia since they basically changed the ticket (contract) but putting in a new carrier? Nothing else with the flight changed (other than flight # and carrier).

As always thansk Flyer Talkers!!!

Hi all! I have a confirmed ticket via expedia for Nov 4- Ath to IST on Olympic- it was changed to Chalk's airline- never heard of them and zero web presence.

Seems someone is using the code that used to belong to the now defunct oldest airline in the US (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chalk%27s_International_Airlines), huh? Might be the new Olympic... Is their code OP now?

Ok to cut a long story short ::

OA = Olympic Air

OP = Is the code for Olympic Airlines. ( temporary )

IST at the moment due to operational issues and red tape is being flown by Olympic Airlines using Olympic Air's A/C. Its due to the operating license regs. Olympic Air are expected to take the route with their own OA code soon.

For your part as a passenger you will feel like your on Olympic Air. The aircraft being used the last days are new Airbus A319/A320. Pics below ::
