I'm having a lay over at CDG in January from a Fri to a Sat and was thinking of maybe staying at Novotel instead of Sheraton for a change (also half the price)...

I believe the hotel is in walking distance from the automatic "train" connecting the terminals but at which stop and how far is it to walk?

I never stayed myself there but I know several people who stayed there and never heard any special comments. So I think you can assume it's OK. The Novotel is right close to the RER station for term 1 & 3 and also walking distance of the CDG VAL station. So, not a bad choice in term of convenience

I stayed there a few months ago. Nothing wrong about it, and I agree that the Sheraton, while pleasant, is way overpriced. If the Hilton is no more than EUR 20 more expensive than the Novotel, I would go for the Hilton, also close to the VAL station.

Thanks JOUY31 for the tip ^

How far is the Hilton from the VAL station walking wise would you say?

Reason I'm asking is that we're heading off to SXM the following day and don't want to bring too much winter clothes for a one night transfer...

Thanks,

F

5-7mn walk, but you need to find the righ exit from the RER station. Once you know, it is very easy. It is beyond the coach station.

Just checked the Hilton and at EUR 199 I'd be better off staying at Sheraton.

The Novotel is still high up on the list but still comes in at an EUR 150. Paying the little extra for Sheraton is maybe not too bad as we don't have to leave the airport at all...

Did once (also in combination with a SXM following day flight) stay at the Quality Hotel (EUR 110) outside the airport and it was HORRIBLE!
