Air New Zealand Air Points - Best business class seats for couples, LAX-LHR?

Did a quick search and came up empty. My wive and I might fly the LAX-LHR route in C. Are there any seats good for couples or are even the center ones so separated from each other that you can't easily see or talk to each other?

Thanks for any info.

With the herringbone layout, seats across the aisle are best for seeing each other but are not good for talking (except when one of you hops onto the ottoman of the other's seat), and seats in the same letter but adjacent rows are best for talking (easy over the suite wall) but are not good for seeing one another.

The centre seats in the same row are the worst possible combination to have - not only can you not see or hear each other but you have to walk around the end of the cabin to get to the ottoman of the other seat.

Thanks for the feedback, both informational and humorous!

Having flown CX in C, I suspected that the herringbone doesn't lend itself to couples (though I love it as a solo traveler) on Air NZ, but wanted to check to make sure.

If that flight is staying as a 747, with UA 1K status you may have access to the front cabin in which case 1 A&K are a good combination for couples. Ottomans almost touch!

The only drawback for row 1 is there are no overhead bins till row 3 (I think). Yes, the ottomans are very close. As a 6' solo traveller in row 1 my feet came in contact the other passenger at times, when the seat converts as a bed.
But this might be ok for a couple;)

If you can't get 1AK my preference is two seats across the aisle on the upper deck.

I love 1A:) Unlikely with UA 1K status you will get the very front of the cabin as they are held for NZ G and GE.

Maybe this does not apply to all flights. I just booked 7A LHR -> LAX and I do not have any status on any airline.
