Has anyone stayed at these properties?
Quality Inn Casino Area (Lake Tahoe) or Quality Inn Trailside(Carson City) - both require 8K points this season)
I did look at review on tripadvisor. Which property is better to stay at in respect to location perhaps on a trip from LA to SF via Lake Tahoe.
Thank you
We just stayed at the QI Trailside using points. It was a perfectly acceptable QI (sufficiently clean but not absolutely immaculate, good front desk service, no hassles at check-in or check-out, no security concerns). The breakfast was decidedly on the weak side - typical carb load with no protein, sugar-loaded yogurt, little to no fruit. Water pressure & temperature in the shower were both good, pool was being used by others (we didn't). We'd stay there again.
The Trailside is just north of US 50 on the main street and within a few blocks of the casinos. I would avoid the Nugget if you go to the casinos - horrid food and dingy place - but the Gold Dust and the Best Western were both pretty nice (and profitable too!). The drive to the lake from the QI Trailside was an easy and pretty half hour, then another 20 minutes or so to get to the town at the south end - we were there on Labor Day weekend and traffic around the lake was insanely bad.
