Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - M&M shows SQ awards, but cannot book: any thoughts!

Just got off the line with M&M re an intra-Asian award booking on SQ. M&M agent shows flights (X-class, A>SIN>B) available, but then cannot reserve & book them. The helpful agent reverted to her supervisor to no avail. One of the fights even showed 4 X-seats, so there seems to sufficient inventory available.

Has anybody any idea what's going on and how to fix it?

I quite rarely can confirm the intra-Asia segments on SQ on M&L or MP awards ... normally, the agents put them on request and then wait 5 mins to 48 hours for SQ to confirm them.

It's a tad annoying often but then on the other hand, I find that SQ has excellent availability.

Hmm ..... that option was not offered to me by the agent. Is this request procedure possibly related to M&L elite levels?

Just checked availability with UA Mileage Plus and award seats on all flights for that day can be booked using UA miles.

Meanwhile back at M&M agent keeps telling me, flights are not available only "on waitlist". I then ask her to waitlist the flights, then she states she cannot waitlist flights. :confused:

You often get this with SQ. ANA Tool etc. says a seat is there but then its not. Also the other way round where ANA sees nothing but LH can just book or request seats.

I don't think that availability requests are an elite feature. In the good ol'time Aloha was another such partner which was on request only. And some AN routes were 'request and confirm' as well.

I had 'inverse' availability numerous times with KrisLiar, M&L, and MP. On NZ or SQ I recall at least 5 instances where I could not get an award on M&L but on MP. But as this violates the StarNet Blocking religion of FT, you cannot safely make these claims :p.

On the integrated M&L partners, Isee inventory all the time which is not available on MP or KrisLiar, so I suppose the blocking happens on the M&L side.
