I have to go to Paris in October for a business meeting and was wondering which Sofitel/M-gallery hotel to choose.

Prices are all similar so which one would you recommend?

Don't forget Pullman! I generally stay at the Pullman Bercy. It tends to be cheaper and the Bercy area is nice if modern so not the Paris of postcards. It's only a short walk to the line 14 which is the high speed metro line across Paris.

If you want a Sofitel I would be inclined to go with the Scribe ( recently renovated) or Le Faubourg ( smaller and chic location). These properties are more central than the Pullman Bercy but in general cost alot more.

I'm surprised you see the prices as similar. IME they are all very different. The Pullman Bercy is pretty nice, but only worth it if you are working in Bercy. If you want charming or romantic, try the M-Gallery Lord Baltimore. The Scribe is a great location for tourism, but usually terribly overpriced. I mostly stay at the Lord Baltimore.

Any experiences with Le Faubourg or Arc de Triomphe?

Also, have you stayed in a suite at the Lord Baltimore?

Sorry, but I have to answer no to each question. At the LB, I always book the lowest price room and always get a one or two level upgrade to a nice room, but not yet to a suite.

Well I am back from Sofitel Le Sribe in Paris and I was a bit underwhelmed. Room rate was € 207/night (no breakfast) and although I was upgraded to an "executive" room the only way to describe the room was bijou. Bathroom was big though. The hotel in itself was ok though not exactly grande. The elevator area in the lobby could do with a paint job and the service was decidedly bad. Twice housekeeping entered the room without knocking.

Room service and minibar prices were shocking, € 8 for a can of beer. :td:

Internet was available both cabled and wifi and if you are staying there for more than one night you should note that wifi is much cheaper than cabled, though nothing alerts you to the fact.

Ordered food one night and it took over 45 minutes to arrive and one phone call, in fairness they did not charge me for the food.

Sofitel these days send out on online questionnaire after the stay and I answered it (same happened to me last month in Buenos Aires). I promptly received a message from the director of the hotel and the head of guest relations offering apologies and an upgrade with champagne welcome should I stay there again. Good offer though not sure it will sway me in favour of staying at Le Scribe again.
