Virgin America Elevate - Why a Price-Hike after 18th November?

I was looking at booking numerous VX flights on shorter haul, yet I see after 19th November to around 30th November the prices get a little steep. Pop over to WN things are all normal at the usual $49~ fares, and even UA, US are cheaper or close to that. Yet VX are wanting almost double from what they usually charge. Plenty of $81 LAX-SFO's etc...Once you through in a Bag Fee its all just a little overpriced for some certain days, especially quieter days like Tue/Wed.
I note that its before Thanksgiving etc, but its still not peak period for that time of year. Does anyone think or know if VX might reduce prices?

Clearly, it's due to the holiday. They also go up for the "winter break". If seats don't sell at those prices, they will come down.

That's what happened to me last year! I booked my Thanksgiving tickets on VX in August, but then changed one of my flights in October (Decided to fly home on Monday instead of Tuesday). Even with the $150 change fee, I think I got $200 or so in flight credit from VX because the ticket prices had dropped so much

and its appears they have now dropped some of the fares. LAX-SFO back down to $49 as well as some of the other shorter haul fares.
