Qatar Airways Privilege Club - What is the A319 like in J?

Has anyone travelled on the A319 down to SEZ?? Is it a nice plane and is there much turbulence on this route at night?

I think you mean " What is J like in the A319?"

J has got to be pretty big to squeeze in a A319 no matter how small the plane is . :P


But the narrow aircrafts' J class, which is often sold as F class on the Middle Eastern routes are well, basic. Just like what you'll find in many European carriers' Business Class for their narrow bodied fleet as well.

Meals are also not as elaborate as on the wide bodied aircrafts.

I wouldn't say that it's like a European business class -- which is often 3 seats across on each side with a blocked middle -- but rather a U.S. domestic first class -- 2 wider seats across with a moderate recline.

I took the 319 in J to NBO, and it was decent, although the aircraft was a bit more dowdy than I would expect for QR. They brought a personal DVD player to each passenger, with a selection of titles on offer. Full amenity kit, one decent meal, typical QR beverage selection.

I had a similar configuration on a 319 in (three-class) F from DXB; there was definitely not a separate J cabin on that one; I couldn't tell what the J configuration was.

I flew ARN-DOH return in J in the A319 and I have to say I was positively surprised!

Sure it is small in size but only has eight seats in there so the personal space is great. Not at all like the standard European business class but much better.

The seats recline a lot but not 180 degrees. No personal TV as someone already pointed out but good service on our flight at least and nice food as well.

Abstract1: I would love to hear about the DOH-SEZ leg since I hope to fly that myself on my honey moon in a few months time.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that QR sometimes fly A320s to SEZ. I prefer the A319 any day of the week.
