I have a friend who is going to be flying SN TLV-BRU-BCN. The connection time is 50 mins which appears to be in line with the MCT at BRU. Neither of their passports are EU passports. The ITA engine shows this as a valid connect. EF shows arrival and departure both from Terminal M. Should they be ok, or will the immigration clearance prevent them from making the connecting with only 50 mins?

Although your question doesn't involve AA specifically, I'm responding since I had to transfer from an AA flight to an SN flight at Brussels recently, and the report may useful for AA flyers.
As far as passengers are concerned, there's only one Terminal at BRU, containing two piers, A and B. Your friends are coming from a non-Schengen country and will arrive at Pier B.
I arrived at Pier B on AA88 a few weeks ago, flying ORD-BRU-TLS, with a 1:35 connection time. It took exactly 1:10 to get to my gate in Pier A, as several planes had apparently disgorged their passengers just before we arrived. The main delay was at passport control in Pier B, immediately after stepping off the plane; there were just too many people and it's too narrow a space, with little in the way of crowd direction/control until you get quite close to the immigration officials. Once clearing passport control, the tunnel between Pier B and Pier A is long, as others have noted, but not extreme. At the end of the tunnel, security to enter Pier A was efficient and the lines moved quickly; I cleared in 5 minutes.
