Other North & South America Frequent Flyer Programs - What has FT got against Spirit? (Other programs!!?!!)

Maybe someone can address this for me. Virgin America serves 9 airports and 8 markets. (This will move to 10 & 9 in Nov when they start FLL service). Spirit serves 15 domestic destinations and more than 25 international destinations. Why does Virgin America get its own forum on FT but Spirit is lumped in with "Other North & South America Frequent Flyer Programs" ?

This isn't just a FT thing. I notice that Virgin America gets mentioned in general U.S. airline news alongside the legacies, Southwest, JetBlue, Midwest, and Frontier but Spirit seems only to be mentioned when the subject is strictly LCCs or extra fees.

I've been told that Spirit has the largest presence at FLL... more than the historically dominant Delta. (But I have no numbers to back this up.)

Why the snub?

There was a Spirit forum for about two days a few years back. They took it away.
