Fairmont President's Club - Fairmont E-Upgrades Price/Category

Hello,

Someone mentioned on the NFAF Fairmont thread in the Hotel Deals forum that Fairmont is now selling upgrades in advance, conditional upon them being available when you arrive. The example given was after you've confirmed your reservation, a window pops up asking if you'd like to upgrade to a suite for $XX, if one is available at check-in. Then, if a suite is available on check-in, you are charged for it.

This seems like a great idea to me, and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced it so far. I thought it would be valuable to have a central thread for people to note what offers they received when booking. Probably would be good to include as much as possible of the hotel, dates and/or season, what you originally booked, what was offered and for how much.

Best regards,

Michael

Good idea Michael, should we also include upgrades offered at check-in?

Only happened once to me in Whistler from a Fairmont small room... $75 for one bedroom (750 sq ft), $150 one bedroom gold, $300 penthouse(1100 sq ft). I opted for the $75 dollar option but somehow the room got booked so got a good deal on the penthouse :)

I had family from Europe visiting Canada for the first time so it was a great night! The following nights in Vancouver and Empress just went down hill obviously :D

happy upgrading FPCers

my husband is traveling next week to chicago fairmont and when i booked his room with the NFAF rate, a offer came up to upsell to a suite for $19 a night if the suite is available at check-in. I will let you know how it goes.

i have booked other rooms via fairmont (at other hotels) and have not had the offer again.

My husband booked a reg room with a $19 E-upgrade for a suite if it was available at check-in .....(and booking it with the NFAF rate) in chicago. He was given a beautiful view suite at check-in...no problems. :D

I have booked several other fairmont properties without other E-upgrade popping up at final confirmation/charge card page.
