Are any of you boys heading to the Gay Parade in Rio? It's been re-scheduled for Sunday Nov 1st. Would like to hear from others headed there.

Won't be there then (two trips planned in October with the $300 rt special on American) but it seems that every Sunday is a gay parade in Ipanema with all of the boys (and hot straight men at that) walking along the sidewalk on the beach in their tight little Speedos. Talk about Brazilian pride.

Does anyone know when the Gay Parade in Rio will take place for 2010? I have a preplanned trip in June and I have heard that it has been moved to June. I have been two other times and it was in October? I can not rely on the accuracy of my friends who lives in Rio.

I have answered my own question; with a little digging I found it on the web. The gay parade will take place Date: November 1, 2010 @ 1 PM (13:00 hrs) and begin at the Forte de Copacabana / Sofitel Hotel.

More info can be found here: http://www.gaypridebrazil.org/rio-de-janeiro/events/index.asp

It is an amazing/fun event and I hope I can get back to Rio for it.

My calendar shows Nov 1, 2010 as a Monday, which is incidentally All Saints' Day, a public holiday in Brazil. Is it possible that they mean to have the Gay Parade on Sunday, Oct 31st, and somehow things have got garbled? I think we should try to keep on top of this one.

The website I found states that "The March" is actually on November 1st. The website shows a calendar of events and they begin October 5th with an opening show at Teatro Carlos Gomes in Centro and events conclude November 1 with a closing party at :(Le Boy:( in Copacabana
