WestJet "Passenger Perks" - WS offers passes in Eastern triangleView Full Version : WS offers passes in Eastern triangle airbus320 Sep 10, 09, 5:39 am http://finance.yahoo.com/news/WestJet-offers-blockbuster-cnw-2505539064.html?x=0&.v=2 billybob123 Sep 10, 09, 8:38 am This is a great deal for people in the East triangle. $100 per flight, including everything but PST/GST, plus 5 lounge passes? And valid for 12 months? No change fees? And fully transferable? Where's the bad in this? Am I missing something? This is less than half the cost of the Air Canada pass ($2400 for 10 credits). airbus320 Sep 10, 09, 9:07 am It is indeed a good deal. WS is throwing down the gauntlet in the Eastern triangle and I await a response from AC and Porter. (For example, there's nothing on YOW-YYZ between 8:40am and 5:00pm.) But definitely a good deal for someone who can live with their schedule. (For example, there's nothing on YOW-YYZ between 8:40am and 5:00pm.) But definitely a good deal for someone who can live with their schedule. Most business passengers (to whom this product is targeted) are interested in early morning and late afternoon flights - couldn't care less about mid-day. This should be a winner that helps build traffic for WS on what are likely the only routes in Canada where they are running a distant third. dunderhead Sep 29, 09, 11:36 am They certainly make it difficult to book...I have been on hold for over 30min, and the recorded message says "average wait time" is 60+min. It cannot be booked online (even though the recorded message tells me to go the website...the message says "call a travel agent" -- but they have to call the same line, no priority line for them)...and this is the same number that one has to call to actually redeem and use the sector vouchers....so, if I wanted to fly today, I might be missing my flight because their call centre can't handle the volume??!!?? |
