Hi there,

First of all, I'd like to say to everyone. Hope to be able to help.

Secondly, apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, I did some search, but found nothing.

I'm planning to use DC miles to book a flight to Europe around the World Cup leaving early June, returing late August.

The route I have in mind is GRU-LHR, then IST-GRU, both on business.
(37.5k + £255 + tx)

I know LHR and IST are in different zones, so my question is:

Since BMI rules say:

"7 Open-jaw Awards are permitted only within the same zone. By this we mean that it is possible to depart from a different destination than the one you arrived into, providing that the arrival and departure destinations are within the same zone."
but
"8 One way journeys are permitted and will be charged at half the number of miles."

Can I just book a one-way tkt GRU-LHR and then another IST-GRU? Is teh chances of finding seats anyway reduced doing this?

Also, as the flight IST-GRU has an annoying technical stop and I saw at the ANA tool there is the lovely option of flying IST-LIS-GRU with a +20-hour stop in LIS. I wonder, if I book this, do still I get the free hotel as well in LIS?

All the best,

M.

Welcome to FT murilix. :)

Of course you can book two one ways, that's one of the advantages with DC unlike M&M for instance.

In regards to the free hotel, are you serious???

Thanks, Clubman!

No, I wasn't serious, maybe wishful thinking *too much*. But I do remember TP offering a free night on overnight stops on business, but looking better at ANA, I realized the flight IST-LIS is on TK. At least Lisbon isn't Stockholm or London in terms of hotel prices.

Now all I have to do is to earn the miles so I'll be in the 24k purchase range to reach the 37.5k + 255 mark. I've just booked a GRU-IAD-SFO-ORD-GRU, this will be a good start :)
