Hilton HHonors - Paying for upgrades?

So im booking a Doubletree room for Nov and noticed a few rates of 79 and an 89 on key-floor which I belive is the exec level. Im a HH Gold, so is it worth the $10/night for a Fri/Sat night stay for it or is there a good chance it might happen anyways?

Will it matter on a Friday and Saturday? Is the lounge, if they have one, even open (many are not on weekends).

The only way to be sure if the higher price is what you want is to call the hotel (not the 800 number) directly and confirm which rooms apply to which rooms.
