Other North & South America Frequent Flyer Programs - Spirit Airlines to cancel LAX - DTW route???

I tired to book a round trip flight from Los Angeles - Detroit on Spirit Airlines for the end of November and it kept coming up that there were no flights available for any days that I searched....so I checked December and there were no flights then either.

I called Spirit and they said you can't book Los Angeles to Detroit or Detroit to Los Angeles flights for travel after November 11th. When I asked if the route was being discontinued the representative gave me a very indecisive, "yes" (i.e she didn't really seem to know why, but I think that was the answer she defaulted to)

I checked the flight timetable on Spirit's website (which is new as of 9/1/09) and it doesn't show this route as discontinued. I also can't find any news about them canceling the route. Can anyone confirm/deny if this route is being discontinued?

I think DTW-LAX is temporarily discontinuation during winter seasonal and NK will goes back to daily during in summer seasonal 2010. I think it will have to be cancellion the route for LAX-DTW due to direct competitive with NW. Maybe the schedules will have to be changes. You'll find out any more specific info from Spirit.

It's seasonal--flights are available for purchase later on.
