Does A-club voucher have a name on it? Can I take vouchers from two different people and use them togather in one payment?

i haven't seen the new A-Club ones. The ones I got from Accor Favorite Guest did not have a name on them and could be used by anyone. I suspect that to be the case with the new vouchers but can't confirm.

It says that the vouchers are transferable from members to others so I will assume it will not have any names on it. For terms and conditions of Accor vouchers, visit A-club website.

Thanks for reply. So looks like I can register my friends and family for

"Join the A|Club program for free before 30/09/09
and earn 40 Euro in A|Club rewards gift vouchers" offer and spend all the vouchers myself.

Correct?

I think the marketing department at Accor are a bit more clever than so to not let anything like that happen.

I could imagine that the special promotional EUR 40 vouchers can only be used against the matched club card/member, otherwise the whole promotional setup is a bit wasted.

The EUR 40 voucher should probably more be viewed as a certain percentage discount for a booking...

There is no thing as a free lunch even in Accor-land :(

Actually, these aren't special promotional vouchers, they are just the usual vouchers that Accor offers when you hit 2000 points.

And there doesn't seem to be any restriction on using more than one per the A-Club terms:

Any time the Member accumulates a certain level of A|Club points on his or her account (according to the balance indicated on the Member’s account), the Member may convert some or all of these A|Club points into A|Club rewards gift vouchers.

A|Club rewards gift vouchers are valid every day until the expiration date shown on the front of the voucher to pay for all or part of the Member's services (including one night minimum) provided by Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Novotel, Mercure, Suitehotel, ibis and all seasons hotels, as well as Accor Thalassa hotels.

A|Club rewards gift vouchers may be used as means of payment for all rates (public and promotional rates) in all member hotels participating in the A|Club Program.

A|Club rewards gift vouchers are valid for a period of 1 year following their date of issue. The validity expiration date is indicated on the front of each A|Club rewards gift voucher. In order for a gift voucher to be valid, it must be used as a means of payment for all or part of a specific service at a participating hotel before the gift voucher’s expiration date. These gift vouchers may be transferred by the Member to another person.

A|Club rewards gift vouchers may not be used as full or partial pre-payment or to confirm a reservation.

You currently get 2000 points for registering a new A-Club membership which you than can transfer into a hotel voucher, a Europcar voucher or if you accumulate 4000 miles into frequent flyer miles.

I just redeemed an A-Club voucher (with 2000 points I earned on stays) which was not personalised! The vouchers are real vouchers send out by post not just some online codes.

I highly doubt that they'll print special personalised vouchers for the people who earned their 2000 points via the promo. The costs for that would be significantly higher than just swallowing the losses from those few odd ones out who sign up their whole family, football team and than some and spent a few nights for free in Sofitels. Especially if this promo gets them some extra reservations in half-empty Sofitel properties with just a 40 Euro discount.

... and then there are those who sign up their pet dogs, cats, rabbits, dead grandparents and maybe bobo the clown as members. :D

Hi everyone,

I am not new to AC Club (I have a 240 points!! :() but I have never had any meaningful activity. Until I saw this offer!

I was also wondering the following about these vouchers: I made a booking for 2 rooms under my name at an Ibis, but now since my parents will now receive a voucher each, should I rebook one room under each of their names? Or since the vouchers seem to be transferable, can I simply use them for my own reservation (in this case they will both be present)?

Thanks in advance.

Are the Europcar vouchers different from the hotel voucher or are they the same thing?

a north american agent explained that you CAN combine more than one voucher for payment, that they HAVE NO NAMES and that they are "just like cash."

in adiditon, if you need to use them in a non USD or non Euro country, the hotel converts it at the time of payment.

the agent said a hotel can refuse to honor them, and she suggested letting them know upfront if you intend to pay with one.

also, you can use the voucher to pay for a meal, even if you are not staying in the hotel (in case that is of use).

I wonder if they will refuse to accept 20 vouchers for a nice suite?

i wrote an Email to Sofitel Dubai Jumeriah beach and asked if I could pay for my 1.600 Euro stay in their Deluxe room using only vouchers. I got a nice email back confirming that I can use as many vouchers as I want.

However I do not trust this thing. you can "order" 1000 or whatever amount of vouchers (if you have many pets *G*)

You can even create many profiles with different names AND addresses and later change the address as soon as you want the voucher to be sent. The account stays, so you can do this in a few month (maybe even getting vouchers with a later expiration date)

Only problem would be the point where there switch to electronic vouchers which are maybe not transferable

You have such a test before? Change of Address? Have not received it?

Please understand me correctly. I am not suggesting that one should order vouchers for virtual people. But I think it is ok to order for my family. Otherwise they should not put up such a promo (which is in my opinion not thought through, but anyway...)

I tested that the emailaddress cannot be used twice. But this is not a problem in todays times...

The postal addres can be the same. But there is a risk that they might notice someone using 50 times the same address.
