Midwest Airlines Midwest Miles - Some competitive MKE items for winter

Recently several airlines have loaded or updated winter schedules. Here are a few items related to the MKE competitive environment:

Frequency changes:
US MKE-PHL drops to 2x 12/15
AA MKE-STL drops to 2x 11/19
CO MKE-EWR drops to 3x 12/22
CO MKE-IAH drops to 4x 12/22
CO MKE-CLE drops to 4x 12/22

Both EWR and IAH are currently planned to restore the dropped frequency in mid Feburary, but MKE-CLE still shows 4x beyond that.
MKE-STL appears to be part of AA's larger cuts at St Louis, where most non-hub flights have or are being trimmed. I wonder if this increases the chances of YX* returning.
MKE-PHL so far doesn't show the 3rd flight coming back.

Sunbird routes
Both Southwest and AirTran now have their schedules out there through February and well into March, so we can see their current plans for the winter. At this point, of course, there are no Midwest changes.

Looking at Florida as a whole, total one way seats (without any YX/F9 Airbus) for 2010 peak is more than 2009 but still less than 2008:

Florida 2008 -- 1795 seats
1287 …. Midwest
508 …… AirTran

Florida 2009 -- 1615 seats
1173 …. AirTran
274 …… Midwest
168 …… USA3000

Florida 2010 -- 1564 seats
879 …… AirTran
411 …… Southwest
274 …… Midwest

Here are total seats (all airlines) market by market. Some of the new WN sunbird markets, especially LAS, seem to have quite a bit of capacity even without Midwest expansion. Others, still solidly less than 2008.

FLL
2008 …… 286
2009 …… 137
2010 …… 117

TPA
2008 …… 423
2009 …… 236
2010 …… 353

MCO
2008 …… 683
2009 …… 647
2010 …… 764

RSW
2008 …… 403
2009 …… 595
2010 …… 330

PHX
2008 …… 904
2009 …… 591
2010 …… 728

LAS
2008 …… 693
2009 …… 472
2010 …… 883

Every airline has significant connecting traffic opportunities in these city pairs, so for example Southwest's MKE-LAS has lots of west coast connecting options, plus carries thru passengers from BWI to LAS. I'm curious to see what YX/F9 will in fact add or increase for winter. AirTran's current plans have 1x less on MKE-MCO (a WN route) and MKE-RSW (not a WN route), plus a mix heavier on the 717 than last year, but they added a 3rd MKE-LAS (also a WN route).

I would not be terribly surprised to see YX bring back FLL. The demand is there for SE Fla, and FL's one nonstop is just not enough to meet MKE's demand.

The YX CSRs are saying to keep an eye open for further changes to the schedule. With the recent rounds of announcements, it appears they would not be surprised to see FLL return as at least a seasonal destination.
