They offer great price on this route (US$285) for RT. SQ is asking for US$1475. Has anybody flown them on this route? What service/amenities are offered? Flew SQ many times on this route, but I am ready to switch if the price for C is less than the price for Y on SQ. Thanks.

They don't start flying the route until 01/01/10. Until then it's KUL-DPS-KUL.

Thanks, I did not notice it. I was checking dates in March.
How is KUL-DPS-KUL in C?

I have flown SIN-CGK-SIN a few times in C. Ok seat. Ok food. Ok Service. Nothing fantastic. No amenity kit on this route. Which aircraft are they using on SIN-DPS-SIN?

But waay better than SQ in all aspects!
Sure can't beat the price. QR is smart to switch traffic to SIN as SIN-DPS is underserved. Currently SQ is the only major carrier flying there unless you want to consider Garuda! Air Asia also flying direct service, but if one wants a full service airline to compete with SQ, then its QR.

Can only agree with Guy Betsy.
QR is a great airlines in C and the service was very good for a small portion of the price of SQ on the SIN-CGK-SIN.
Only problem is the timing. While it works well on the outbound, it is a bit late coming back.
I am thrilled if they start serving DPS. Will be a nice change from Garuda (despite being based in Singapore, I refused to fly SQ on that route due to their ridiculous pricing). A bit of competition can do no bad.

I didn't even know that QR will switch from KUL to SIN as the stopover point, but that's great news. Anyone know pricing and if the flight timing will remain the same as the present KUL flight out of DPS because, yes, timing is the only problem.
AirAsia have just started the DPS-SIN route and have immediately increased to 2XDaily. Jetstar also now fly. But SQ have been gouging Regional passengers on this route for too long and, yes some quality competition is great.
I can't understand why EK don't fly an ANZAC-DPS-SIN-DXB route, which I think would be VERY profitable. SQ charge almost USD 1K on the DPS-SIN-DPS route and Y is often as much as USD 600. For a 2 hour flight!! A living illustration of (Essentially) monopoly pricing (Although, from personal experience, don't rant about this on the SQ Board because it's full of vested interests and you will get flamed) . In Y, SQ are essentially giving the SIN-DPS-SIN sector fro free to European through traffic and then trying to fill the remaining seats with Intra-Regional travellers at ridiculous prices to offset the subsidies on through traffic. Those days are ending and its great that QR will assist in this respect.
I have the misfortune(?) to live in Bali and this price gouging by SQ has been an ongoing irritation, now ending.

I've only found fare DEE3MSG for US$375 R/T as lower price in Business

Again, sticking to fares published on their own websites as a basis for comparison, QR is pricing DPS-SIN-DPS at USD 430 (About USD 520 after taxes etc.) in Business after this route commences in Jaanuary 2010. That compares to USD 285 to KUL at present. So, clearly QR are pricing this route versus SQ in the existing full service duopoly situation. The QR fare is less than half the SQ fare and at the higher end of the SQ range for Y of USD 330-620 depending on travel time. Seems reasonable pricing strategy to me. The only problem is that for SIN as a destination, the arrival time after 1AM is not convenient. It works very nicely SIN-DPS with a 6PM arrival time.
