I am booked onto the ZRH-HKG during mid October.

I have read numerous customers saying the seats are awful,, and you slide down the thing when trying to sleep?

What should I expect?

I recently posted questions regarding upgrades, and as a silver Star Alliance customer, I guess the only way to upgrade would be by using some hard earned money...

But, I was always under the impression that SWISS was a premium product?

Have the SWISS ---> HKG flights got the new business and first class seats?

thanks for your comments !!!

No. ZRH-HKG is op by an A340 and hence no new C/F.
I wouldn't say the C seats are awful. They are compareable to LH's, or TG's biz product IMO. But unfortunately they are not 180° flat but you can't find a better C seat ex ZRH to HKG unless you are willing to connect in SIN or maybe LON etc. I haven' tried CX yet so can't comment on their seats but since they axed ZRH you'd need an additional connection anyway.
If you can I suggest an uprade to F. LX's F is among the best out there without any question.

thanks.

I am connecting from BHX, as I prefer to fly from a local airport than drive the 2.5 hours to LON.

Also wanted a *A airline and SWISS fares were very good.

I will try for an upgrade using cash :-( but I sense the price may be high, given a previous post on the subject....

Yes. Price will be the fare difference from your fare bucket to the next available F fare.

No, you can upgrade at check-in or at the gate at a fixed price, usually much lower than the fare difference. See other threads about this.

This holds true for some outstations but normally not for the hubs.
