Just transfer your Amex reward points to FC miles and they add the bonus to the transfer ...

Thanks..boy, all this stuff is so new to me. So, I applied but haven't gotten my Virgin Amex yet - I should get it next week. The miles don't automatically go to FC and I have to transfer them?

So, I'll get my flight next week and then I assume it takes a while to get the reward points credited to the Amex acct - and I should hope they get credited before Oct. 31st so I can transfer and get the bonus? Is that right? (and I should get instructions on how to transfer when I get my card?)

Or, is this just for a 'normal' Amex and not the Virgin Amex?

The membership rewards transfer is for people with proper Amex cards.

With VS Amex (administered by MBNA in the UK and NOTHING to do with American Express - apart from the logo) the points are automatically transferred to our Flying Club account each month.

Where did you see this please ? I have quite a few to transfer and had been waiting for the 15% bonus offer to appear again. I just tried 1000 as a test and didn't get a bonus.

I'm in the UK so I'm wondering if it's US-only or targetted ? In past promos I have needed to register.

That appears to be true - and I'm lucky, my corporate Amex is registered in the US even though I'm in the UK.

An update to this, since I transfered some miles but did not notice the 15% bonus. The response I had from Amex was:

"Please be advised, that the 15% bonus miles are issued through Virgin Flying Club within 14 days of the transfer."

So there you have it.
