Avis - Continental MasterCard President's Club no longer working for non-holders?

I recently re-upped my President's status through the continental link, but have now been downgraded back to standard status by Avis (I no longer have the continental card) (this was great while it lasted). Has this route been closed off? Are there other programs that offer president's club beyond Continental Mastercard and Singapore air?
