View Full Version : A promo for fall 09?

I notice this forum doesn't get a lot of activity, but I have several stays coming up in locations that don't offer many alternatives to BW, so I'd like to know if anyone is aware of any upcoming systemwide promo. Don't BW try to compete with the likes of Choice or PC?

Should be released very soon as I am starting to see the BW/Airline offers seep out of the woodwork, the BW/Airline offer is the ability to earn up to quadruples miles after 4 stays(I've seen it for Air Canada and Hainan), so it should be something similar for Best Western Rewards points

Thanks superdawg! As I know next to nothing about BW's program, are these promos usually advertised through the BW web site or the airlines web sites? Are they normally targeted or available to the general public? I did check on the "International Offers" page, but I haven't seen anything new.

They're often not "advertised" period. Here's what you need to do:

1. Login.

2. Go to My Account.

3. Click on Regsiter for Special Offers. (This gives a totally different list of offers than any other offers page on BW's website!)

4. Figure out if you can tell what the difference is between dizzying amount of double/triple/quadruple variations you'll see. (For example, there's a regular points one, and then a AAA one, and in this cycle I swear I can't figure out a single difference between the two!) The miles versions require 2/3/4 stays (with typical definition of "stay" which requires hotel hopping), the points version require 2/3/4 nights, and say "nights need not be consecutive".

As so usual, there's no clear explanation of what happens on your 5th stay (miles) or 5th night (points). Do you keep earn quadruple, do you start the cycle again, or is it all over? The fact that they explain (for points) that the maximum bonus is quadruple for the 4th night does not mean that you can't earn that bonus later, it just means that there's no bigger bonus per night ever (as in no quintuple)! Duh! So it answers nothing about the 5th night!

Does anyone have actual experience with the similar promo that ran early this calendar year that FTers had the very same quesitons about? (Those questions never got answered on FT, that I can find, that time around.)

... Totally separately, also see the state-specific promos that were just posted the other day in a separate thread.

Thank you so much for the additional info! I'm just in the process of booking a bunch of upcoming stays for myself and Mr. honu in New Zealand and New Caledonia (in locations where other chains are thin on the ground), so I just signed both of us up for the email offers. However, I'm not sure how long it will take for the emails to appear in our mail boxes, so, if you could add some more info or a link for this latest promo (PM is fine if you prefer) I'd be so very grateful. Thanks in any case! :)

Currently, we were thinking of getting WN credits for the stays, but if the points offer is particularly appealing, we could change that.

Here it is, earn up to 4x Best Western Rewards points when you use a MasterCard to pay for your stays between Sep 13 and Nov 22

http://www.bestwestern.com/fall

Surprisingly there are no added benefits this time for CAA/AAA members (last year AAA/CAA did not have to use MC to pay)

Thanks Superdawg! I was actually interested in the equivalent WN promo and it looks like there is no MC requirement. Was that always the case during recent promos that involved airline miles instead of points?

That is correct, the airline miles promos from Best Western do not have specific credit card requirements

2 of my 4 stays have posted (I chose WN credits), but the bonus hasn't. Does anyone have a different experience?
