AY removed BOM today from schedules and reservation system. First plan was to start HEL-BOM-HEL 25th October but light demand killed the route.

So Mumbai is no longer AY destination.

Any word for customers booked on AY flights between HEL and BOM -- including those booked using AY miles -- about what (if anything) AY is doing to rebook customers?

I'm 100% sure that AY will contact each and every PAX personally and offer solutions/options, they do the same for much minor changes (for example a cancelled evening flight on a certain day or something..)

Money and/or points back will most likely be one of the options offered but somehow I have the feeling that they do not have to contact that many people because of this..

A pity to see these flights go regarding India related travellers. Don't really know if there ever were codeshare domestic connections from Mumbai?

But considering the Shanghai Expo next year, would there now be capacity for the long awaited second daily HEL - PVG - HEL? Crossing my fingers especially for a late night PVG - HEL flight, really dislike those 10am longhaul departures.

AY is increasing number of its destinations by combining the leisure flights section with scheduled services - whatever that will bring about...

Regarding India and many other "exotic" destinations, I wonder, why AY does not service BAH, DOH, or DXB, with excellent connections.

Late evening departures from HEL and PVG would be fantastic. I actually like the 10am departure on PVG-HEL, but hate the early morning arrival in PVG on the outward flight from Europe.

Still a shame to see them reducing the route network.

Well, I do know the second PVG daily is under serious consideration but guess we have to wait until spring 2010 at least to hear any news. Not going to happen before business class travel and cargo show sustainable growth again.

If you work in Lujiazui, the Shangri-La at least offers their sauna, pools and showers for use against a 300RMB fee. For those lovely "from plane to office" mornings. ;)
