I met many of you at the West Hollywood Andaz event earlier this year. I was lucky enough to win the trip to London with 2 nights at the Andaz London Liverpool Street. If I remember correctly (there was much wine consumed), I was the 4th or 5th name called (sorry to all who left early or didn't show). My name was called, and the adventure started... My SO and I just got back and I decided to start a thread -- Mods, please merge as appropriate. Thanks to all who have wished me well on the trip!
At the time I won, Rashea Caldwell indicated that I had won 2 nights in London at tha Andaz along with airfare for 2. After talking to Rashea, she indicated that I would get enough FF miles in the program of my choice to get 2 business class tickets to London. This was way above my expectation, and it turned out to be outstanding...^
We spent the first 3 nights (2 free and one paid with MC, of course) at the Andaz. I will post my thoughts on the stay, but I must say we were treated really well by the hotel staff. After that, we spent 4 nights at the Hyatt Churchill, and I used a Diamond suite upgrade for the stay -- perhaps one of the best Hyatt stays I have ever had.
We spent several other nights using nights at SPG hotels (free) -- our biggest mistake on the trip was leaving Hyatt hotels...
In the spirit of Flyertalk, we did as much as we could during our trip as recommended by the various boards on Flyertalk. Since we won the trip at an event that was FT-related, we thought it was only right... Let me say that one can have a great trip based on the collective experiences of all on this website. Thanks to all on the Hyatt board who have been interested in my experience -- this is truly a great community, and I am glad to have taken this trip with all of the knowledge I have obtained here.
