Hello all,
My bestie and his b/f are flying on Virgin from LAX-LHR...only decent lounge in T2 at LAX is the Koru Club lounge. Does NZ sell one-day/one-time use access to the Koru Club?
Thanks in advance...

No it doesn't and , yes, it is the only decent lounge at Terminal 2 - LAX.

I thought LAX did (a couple of workmates purchased access for US$55 each earlier this year)?
But only if flying on NZ, so no help to OP who is flying Virgin.

VS uses the NZ lounge for upper class passengers and their elites.

It would be good if they expanded the AKL lounge to offer this;)

I certainly hope not! The place is overcrowded enough as it is now. If they do this then they should have another lounge for GE / business class passengers only.

Yes, but I think NZ only offers the day pass option to people flying on NZ - not VS passengers without status?
Happy to stand corrected of course :)

The AKL lounge is a dump. With how nice LAX, MEL, and some of the other NZ lounges are, it's unbelievable that the one in AKL is so bad. I much prefer the EK lounge in AKL.

The current lounge needs replacing, so why not keep the old one as a pay per use lounge.
What ever happend to the plans for a new lounge at AKL anyway?

The AKL int lounge was refurbished earlier this year and is a major improvement (except for the lack of bench space in the servery).
The lounge is once again the best at AKL, IMO.

Confirmed on Sep 19 2009, lounge access at LAX with an economy boarding pass to AKL was $55USD. A nice lounge with wireless. food and grog all provided. Worked a charm for a 6 hour layover.
