Choice Privileges - Transfering in points

I created an account, and I'm trying to see if if can find a rewards hotel within Choice Privilages that fits my dates, however the interface won't show me rewards hotels because I have no points in my account, does anyone know where I can find the rewards tiers? I need to know how many points a room is so I can transfer the correct number. Seems odd you can't see rewards unless you have the points alredy in there.
Also, I found that I can get to CP points by going:
MR>CO OnePass>Amtrack>CP
or
SPG>Amtrak>CP
I'll use MR since I value those slightly less than my spg. Will the path I listed above work for me, or will I need some special "status" to transfer in this way. Thanks!

The main page for every hotel shows the point requirements, which can vary by season and can increase without notice (and range from 6,000-75,000 points per night). Also note the booking window; if you have no status with Choice, you can only book 30 days in advance in your region of residence and 60 days in advance for all other regions.
Also, I found that I can get to CP points by going:
MR>CO OnePass>Amtrack>CP
or
SPG>Amtrak>CP
MR>CO>Amtrak is no proble, nor is SPG>Amtrak.
The problem is Amtrak>Choice.
1) If you have no status with Amtrak, you are limited to 25K Amtrak points transferred out to any airline or hotel program per year. Additionally, you must have the Amtrak Guest Rewards Credit Card and must have spent at least $200 on Amtrak travel using that card in the last year.
2) If you have Select or Select Plus status with Amtrak Guest Rewards, you do not need the credit card to make an outbound transfer. Your transfers are limited to 50,000 outbound points per calendar year.
Since you are Coupon Connection eligible, you could also try something there.

As a note, Choice Privileges has gone downhill in many regards. Are you sure you want Choice points? Where is that you want to stay? Maybe there are better options for using your Amex or SPG points.

1. That's a great idea, I can't believe I didn't think of that
2. Unfortunately, I am trying to use the points for a room in a college town on homecoming weekend. I accrue SPG because they have so may higher-end hotel partners in all cities and I can always find a place to stay for a great value, but on this weekend, all SPG properties are booked solid, and the only hotel with any rooms in an Econolodge(ICK I know). That's what led me to look for some Choice Privilege points.
Thanks for your detailed post, it was most helpful!
